[link to basketball reference](https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/simmobe01.html) After starting off the year slow (which many have speculated due to a lingering injury from the bubble), he seems to be turning the corner this season within recent weeks. Since February began, Ben Simmons is averaging 21.3/8.5/8.5. Ben Simmons just followed up the best game of his career with 18-5-1-1 on 78.1% TS that half and was relentless getting downhill. This is all in addition to being a clear candidate for DPOY. For those that watch him, do you think we’re seeing him turn another corner?
I feel like we say this every year lol. He averaged 18/8/8 in the playoffs his first year, we all thought he was the next Lebron (rightfully so, those are all time great rookie numbers in the playoffs), but he’s been there for quite a while now
He was playing like this last year before he hurt his back and then eventually his knee
A leap until the playoffs come around, after which hell be back to 13 PPG off of putbacks from the dunkers spot and the occasional cut
Hes being a lot more aggressive at attacking the paint and looking to score from what Im seeing. He has the physical tools to do it, just gotta keep the mindset like this every game.
He doesn’t even need a 3 just a jump hook or like a 12 foot mid range jumper of some kind, whether it’s a post fade or face up but something where defenses can’t just build a wall on him
Maybe? Feels like hes "turned this corner" for years, must be a long corner
Check back by the end of the season and hell be the same player hes always been
