- joined a 73 win team that won a chip the year before as part of a cast of a 2x former MVP + 2 other all stars - plays on a team with a former MVP / scoring champ and a guy who could easily average 30 that is beating contenders while he eats gummy bears on the bench in a hoodie how does this affect his legacy? i can’t think of any all time great who has stacked the deck to this degree. he was even drafted to a team with 2 other all star caliber players and played alongside MVP Russ!
He’s not really on KD’s level in terms of talent, but LeBron has played with Wade and Bosh, Love and Kyrie, and AD.
Give it to us straight doc, we ain’t scientists.
He’s basically saying KD downgraded to a lesser player when he played alongside other stars, and that he could’ve been greater
I don’t think the term “vestigial” applies in this case He was/is still the best players on both those teams and dominated unlike his counterparts Did he defer to his teammates? Absolutely. But he was still the KD we all know and hate/loved
Lmao "vestigial" aint right. None of those teams would have won the title in those years without him.
You’re tagged GSW and you don’t think they would have beat the Cavs in 2018 with no kyrie?
Hell, they were 4 points away from winning in 2016. Vs a worse Cavs defense in 2017, despite the better offense from the 2017 Cavs, they run it back and theyre still slight favorites vs those Cavs And clear favorites over the 2018 Cavs
they wouldnt have gotten to the finals in the first place in 2018 without kd (the rockets wouldve beaten them)
Im not sure what it does to his legacy but anyone whose opinion matters will remember him as one of the best on the planet for at least a decade. Not many who can stake that claim, regardless of who they played alongside.
He’s definitely been one of the more *fortunate* superstars that we have seen.
