For whatever reason, FIBA is always ahead of the curve when it comes to basketball rules compared to the NBA. A recent example is the NBA adopting the rule that the shot clock resets to 14 seconds, not 24, after an offensive rebound. The next rule Im dying to see implemented is that you CANNOT call a timeout when the ball is live. In my opinion, this would make late game situations much more exciting and reward good defense. I cant stand it when a team traps the ballhandler perfectly, and then he gets bailed out by just looking at the ref and saying "timeout!!". In what other sport can the offense just stop the game whenever they please because theyve found themselves in a precarious situation?
yall trying to ruin basketball with these dumbass rule suggestions
Laker fans don’t get a say. Your team is actively ruining basketball with refball
Provide a counterargument or dont comment at all.
timeout during live ball situations
Nah. Live ball timeouts are important.
How about 0 timeouts with under 2 mins left. I cant handle these games that stretch out 1 min into 30. I will never ever get a buddy not into ball to watch a basketball game. With delays like this, theyll hate me
Or make timeouts actually valuable. 3-4 per game instead of 7 so that teams aren’t calling a timeout to save a possession in the middle of the second quarter.
TV partners would never go for that
Nothing better than a perfectly executed ATO play, though.
If you like soccer more than basketball watch more soccer. Dont try to change basketball into soccer. Edit: Im dumb and I deserve the following insults.
FIBA is basketball you knob
FIBA not FIFA you FOOL lol
Yeah, I deserve that
When did I bring up soccer? FIBA is the International Basketball Federation. In FIBA you can only call a timeout during a dead ball situation or after a made basket.
