I thought of this watching Luka Doncic. Who was the last white guy who was the face of the NBA? Its got to be Larry Bird, right? Steve Nash never really the face of the NBA along side Iverson, Shaq, and Kobe. Nobody else was even close since the 1980s. Not that it matters but it struck me thinking that Doncic could be the first in 40 some years.
Mikan Bird and Magic shared it
> Bird and Magic shared it I would count that. Nash never had equal shares of face of the league, and neither did guys like Durant or Wade.
Bob Cousy and Bob pettit
Bird was never the face of the league. Magic then Jordan
White Chocolate Jayson Williams when he was in Sacramento
The face of the NBA has been three people for the last 25 years: MJ, Kobe, and LeBron. Bird might have an argument, but Magic was just as much then too. Probably the last real time that was the case was someone like Pistol Pete.
> The face of the NBA has been three people for the last 25 years: MJ, Kobe, and LeBron. Thats not true. Shaq, Iverson, and Curry had their times.
They were stars but never the face of the NBA. Face of the NBA is the person everyone knows, even non-NBA fans.
