https://twitter.com/byjayking/status/1249778644886659072?s=21 In an interview with The Jump back in April Jayson Tatum said he hasn’t been able to touch a basketball since the Celtics’ last game in Indiana. He thought about getting a hoop, but doesn’t think the Boston weather is good for outside basketball workouts. In the bubble season opener he had 5 points on 2-18 shooting
He really went 1-17. He got credited for the bucket the Bucks scored on themselves. Embarrassing.
Love that people are trashing him everywhere with the 2-18, when in reality its worse, but they didnt watch the game.
all these players who said they didnt shoot for months long are capping. theyre millionaire athletes with near infinite resources in terms of gyms he just had a dogshit night
Tatum is still on his rookie contract though... EDIT: I seem to have forgotten that rookie contracts for lottery picks are a bit more $$$...
Do you realize he made 8 million dollars this year?
He got Rakuten money
How serious was the quarantine in Boston? Were there any indoor gyms open?
It was pretty serious for a while. Only started opening up in the last month or so and by then players were already back at practice facility.
Ive no clue I dont live there. But I do know JJ Redick was easily able to secure several gyms in New York which had a very strict lockdown. Tatum also didnt stay in boston the entire lockdown. Even if he did, he could get private workouts anywhere
Quarantine here was about as bad as anywhere in the country. We were ground zero at the beginning and the governor has been very strict with reopening (which I like).
I believe tatum was training somewhere and made those comments to not get in trouble for not quarantining.
he might not be lying lol
It was the same shit in the UFC, Holloway said he trained via zoom, DC said he was lying and then Max proceeded to beat the champ.
You’re an idiot if you think a pro ball player is going even a week without touching a basketball
So this was him playing well practiced and well rested? Yikes
Probably. Players have bad nights. Not everything needs an excuse
History has proved that when you can’t practice that much you get worse. He will bounce back
Shocking revelation that
He’ll be fine by the playoffs, just needs to find a rhythm
I know a place with perfect weather
Yeah Guantanamo Bay is beautiful round this time of year
They have a program down there where you swim with an altitude mask on. Apparently its the best cardio workout on the planet.
He will be fine it’s one game.
The worst thing about his game today was the fact he kept shooting late in the 4th quarter when he only made 1 shot all game (other shot was a tip-in by the bucks)
He completely whiffed on a floater too.
ToP 15 pLaYeR!
At least hes a top 15 pick in his redraft
I mean Markelle isn’t what he was meant to be but he’s slowly getting better with the Magic.
OnE gAmE sAmPlE
One game ? r/nba back with hot takes
Youd think 6ers fans would learn after the Jaylen debacle in the season opener, but apparently no.
and now he is the worst player in the league wow
Nice strawman. Let the man get roasted
6ers fans crying as usual
Its crazy how many people believe the opposite. Tatum is far too inconsistent. Had one amazing February and people forgot about his December.
Ingram post All-Star break was playing so good, but no one wanted to notice until this season lol. Someone that finally agrees
I dont get why they ran plays for him at the end of the 4th when it was clearly not his night.
Good thing that his performance can only go up from now lol
This lay-off was the worst thing to happen to his momentum. I’m sure he’ll get back into it but that game was just tough to watch.
Tatum always seems to come back from breaks pretty rocky imo
Real estate in Mass is one of the most expensive in the nation. He probably couldve built a court on the fly, but it is what it is.
Hes a momentum player, and sadly the time off didnt help. Gonna be honest I dont think hes gonna improve much until next season. Still is a promising player but not a superstar yet, maybe in the future though.
he was garbage. ill be worried if he follows it up with a game anywhere near as bad. ive seen him do this shit before already
He just had a bad game, no matter how good you are they happen, no need to find excuses for him.
Black Lives Matter sucked tonight.
can y’all imagine if Simmons or Embiid said that and went 2-18 would never hear the end of it
Not a Boston fan, he clearly had a rough night but that’s fine because all great players have bad nights. I think he’s proved himself pretty well after the all-star break. But with all that being said, I hope he has some games like this if Boston pla
Sounds like an excuse for knowing you are gonna suck
Fultz 2.0 smh damn shame
