Terrible news for Nuggets fans (granted were used to it). Harris simply hasnt been the same player OR able to stay on the court since he injured his hip at the very end of 2018. The fact that this injury is listed as hip related only makes things even more worrisome. I was a big proponent for trading Harris instead of Beasley before the trade deadline. Granted, Beasley is still a liability on the defensive end, but this injury likely makes Harris untradable. Choosing to keep faith in him instead of letting Malik learn on the court may prove to be Tim Connelys biggest mistake as GM. As to Barton- presuming he is unable to get healthy by the playoffs-- Im mostly devastated for him. Hes an all-around good guy and wildly underappreciated player when healthy. Not many glue guys put up 14/5/4 while being a locker room leader. His redemption tour during the regular season turned him into my favorite Nugget. I fear Nuggets fans are about to suffer through a bunch of Craig / Grant / Milsap lineups that leave us unable to score while the season goes up in flames. The teams only hope is that Malone is willing to go with Jamal/Craig/MPJ/Sap/Jokic and that Bol Bol provides a spark of the bench. That’s a lot to put on two rookies and goes against everything we know about Malone...
