Iím trying to get more into the NBA as a whole and wondering where to start. Iíve been following The Raptors since about 2012, and know the major history points within that time until now, but thatís about it. I also donít know jack about any other team other than the Durant/OKC drama, Steph is a phenomenal shooter and Klay Thompson isnít far behind. I definitely want to learn more about the teams and pick up on stuff within the league more but I have no idea where to even start. Iím wondering if thereís a cheat sheet where I can see the most newsworthy items or the most talked about things that people would mention often in conversation? Or should I just start watching games more regularly (other than Raptors lol) and Iíll pick up on it? I browse this sub fairly regularly but find probably 70% of posts are lost on me since a hereís a lot of backstory to these things which I obviously donít know. I try to pick up on injuries/drama/trades etc. but find it difficult to follow along because of all the history within. What are there key events I should know right off the bat? Where can I get all this info and just read up on all the history so I can get more into it? TIA!

2016 Finals, playoffs, season would be a good start for the modern NBA. A lot of records and achievements happened that season. Also in the offseason lol
Honestly, just looking over it now, the NBA wikipedia page is pretty good in terms of explaining the league history
