Reddick was stupidly productive for Philly, 17.1ppg on 61.4TS% in his first season followed by 18.1ppg on 60.2TS% last year. Richardson scored 16.6ppg on a below league average 53.6TS% last season, on lower usage than Reddick too (20.9% vs Reddicks 21.9%) I get that his perimeter defense is an upgrade and those Philly starters are gonna be a bitch to score on, but I think some people are acting like Richardson is only a minor offensive downgrade and I dont get it.
They will miss Reddicks floor spacing
Also just his raw production. Reddick isnt Korver on the Cavs, hes a 20ppg 60ts% scorer.
Richardson was a productive 2 way player for Miami.. And hes 25, that 10 years younger than Reddick He got plenty of years to adapt to Philly system And he on a very cheap contract around 10 million
I dont think he a great shooter but a decent replacement for Reddick.. He very young and has time to develop for the new system he about to play in.. I definitely believe a couple years from not he will be averaging 20 points and will be a great role play
this isnt a fair comparison because Redick was always the 3rd-5th option on the floor, and got good looks. Richardson was Miamis leading scorer and was being asked to do more than he should be doing. Hell probably have the most efficient year of his caree
You’re right that nobody in the Sixer’s offense can replicate JJ’s offball movement and catch+shoot speed, and that’s probably going to gunk things up. Brown will need to figure out a wholly different offensive play style to make it really work.
There aren’t many JJ’s in the league. We will miss his shooting for sure. But let’s not act like Brett Brown is going to run the same offense. Richardson will not be asked to do what JJ did. The sixers offense will be just fine.
