I havent seen a tremendous amount of either, but from what I have seen, Ja Morant is an incredibly versatile player who already has a lot of maturity in his game. Zion is obviously a phenom and has a Giannis or Lebron like physical dominnce but it isnt like hes lacking in a lot of places Ja Morant is already great at. With this being said I think everyone knows Zion will 99.99% be the first pick, but why is it such a clear choice with how skilled Ja is
It’s a cliche, but you can’t teach the athleticism and physicality that Zion has. You can work on skills like passing and shooting when there is a good foundation to build on. But that freakish nature of Zion’s athleticism is what makes him so muc
Zion is King. Ja is peasant
Just look at Zion, hes built like the fucking Hulk
His size and speed are remarkable. He can play any of the 3-5 spots and somewhat lead an offense
You can coach how to shoot, pass, etc. You can’t coach athleticism and size
Someone tell Ben Simmons that.
I don’t want to catch flak from 6ers fans but you not wrong
Zions a once in a generation talent that whoever gets that first pick would be dumb to pass up on. Theres not many guys with that size, speed, and ability. Ja is excellent, but plenty of those types will keep coming along. Its more common at his size.
He screams after he dunks
Because Zion is one of the most efficient players that college basketball has ever seen. He shot an insane 68% from the field. Morant shot 49%, against much lesser competition.
Yeah Zion is a monster but Morant is also a skilled shooter so I think shooting 49.9% from the field is fairly excellent
Id hardly call Ja a skilled shooter. In comparison to Zion, yeah. In comparison to everyone else, just above average.
65, 280. 75 inch vertical.
Teams will take the physical upside over the refined skills 10 out of 10 times. The idea is that the skills can still be taught, but you cant teach size/speed/athleticism. Ja Morant has the chance to be a physically average highly skilled player, whereas
I get that
Zion is just a far better prospect. It’s not just his physical traits - it’s his production. He had like highest PER in ncaa history, he’s extremely skilled around the basket, he’s just one of the most unique guys to come into the league in recen
